Reverend Dr Bob Mayo was appointed as vicar to St Stephen & St Thomas in October 2005. He is a youth worker by background. He has worked in the inner city and he has taught in Cambridge. He learnt how to preach by giving speeches each week, over a six-month period, at Speakers Corner.
He lectures on the Oasis Youth Ministry Course and is a part of the Nazareth research team looking at the contribution Christian youth and community work can make towards raising a Christian consciousness. His publications include Gospel Exploded (1966), Ambiguous Evangelism (2005) and Making Sense of Generation Y (2006). Bob is a founding member of the Centre for Youth Ministry and prior to taking up the incumbency of St Stephen & St Thomas, he was the Director of Youth and Community Work Training at Ridley Hall, Cambridge.
