The passage for this week looks at the fact that no one knows how or when The Second Coming of Christ will happen (Luke 21:25-36). In our day-to-day living it can take a considerable mind shift to recognise that we are not always in control of events. The unusual or unexpected is the norm. There never is a time when everything runs smoothly, people behave perfectly and plans fit easily into place. We are constantly being interrupted or taken by surprise by something that needs our attention. It is reckoned that we can only ever expect to achieve half of what we might set out to do at the beginning of the day. Rather than feeling frustrated or guilty about this, accept that it is not about our lethargy or bad organisation but us simply living the reality of the life we have been given to lead.
