Where to find us

St Michael and St George church is sited on Commonwealth Avenue, White City, between Canada Way and Australia Road.

The Church building is a combined Church and Church Hall. The midweek Church entrance is near the end of the northern part of Commonwealth Avenue. The Hall and Sunday Church entrance is round the corner in Australia Road, immediately opposite Canberra School.

Underground
The nearest Underground station is White City (Central Line), but Shepherd's Bush (Hammersmith & City Line) is also within walking distance.

From White City Station (Central Line)
From the station exit, turn right into Wood Lane, and left at the next set of traffic lights into South Africa Road. Proceed along South Africa Road, and when opposite the entrance to Hammersmith Park turn right into the Estate via a short footpath that connects direct to Australia Road.

From Shepherd's Bush Station (Hammersmith & City Line) From the station exit, turn right into Uxbridge Road.Then:

During daylight hours, turn immediately right into Frithville Gardens; proceed to the end of this cul-de-sac, and then through Hammersmith Park. On exiting the Park at the northern end, cross over South Africa Road, and then pass straight into White City Estate via a short footpath that connects direct to Australia Road.

During the hours of darkness, proceed further along the Uxbridge Road and turn right into Loftus Road. Go to the end of this road, which eventually becomes a cul-de-sac. Pass from Loftus Road into Batman Close; keeping to the left side of the Close, proceed straight ahead along a footway that emerges into South Africa Road. Crossing South Africa Road at the zebra crossing, walk straight ahead into White City Estate via a footpath that leads directly to Australia Road. Cross straight over Australia Road, and walk along Canada Way. When you get to 'Our Lady of Fatima' Roman Catholic church, turn right into Commonwealth Avenue.

By Road
The only road access to and White City Estate is from Bloemfontein Road. Approach Bloemfontein Road as follows:

• from the A40, Westway (westbound only); or
• from Uxbridge Road, W12; or
• from A219, Wood Lane and then South Africa Road.

In Bloemfontein Road, the 'General Smuts' public house is a useful landmark, standing on the south side of the junction with Commonwealth Avenue.
